From Life Goes On lyrics by BTS above, we find several phrases to breakdown. Let’s learn them below:

1. 다행히도 (Dahaenghido)

Source: Big Hits Label YouTube

다행히도 (Dahaenghido) is an expression of blessing. In English, you can say thankfully, luckily, or fortunately. This term is categorized as adverb in Korean. In BTS Life Goes On lyrics, we find it in line “다행히도 우리 사이는 아직 여태 안 변했네” (Dahaenghido uri saineun ajik yeotae anbyeonhaetne). It implies that whatever happens, even if people say this world has changed, thankfully nothing changes between me and you.

2. 변했대 (Byeonhaetdae)

변했대 (Byeonhaetdae) is the past form of 변하다 (byeonhada) that means to change or turn. It is found in line “사람들은 말해 세상이 다 변했대” (Saramdeureun marhae sesangi da byeonhaetdae). 사람들 (Saramdeul) means people (plural) added by subject particle -은 (-eun). 말해 (Marhae) derives from the base form 말하다 (marhada) which means to tell, speak, or say. 세상 (Sesang) means the world. If we arrange those terms, we got the whole meaning “people say the world has changed”.

3. 달아나자 (Daranaja)

달아나자 (Daranaja) derives from 달아나다 (daranada) that means to escape, get away, or run away. It is followed by suffix -자 (-ja) to indicate a suggestion to do something. Literally it can be translated to “let us run away”. We find this term in line “저 미래로 달아나자” (Jeo miraero daranaja). 저 (Jeo) is determiner of ‘that’. 미래 (Mirae) means future. In brief, the point of this sentence is “let’s run away to that future”.

4. 멈췄어 (Meomchwosseo)

멈췄어 (Meomchwosseo) is the past form of 멈추다 (meomchuda) that means to stop or pause. We find it in the first line “어느 날 세상이 멈췄어” (Eoneu nal sesangi meomchwosseo). 어느 날 (Eoneu nal) means one day. 세상 (Sesang) means world added by subject particle -이 (-i). Actually, there are two types of subject particle in Korean, 이/가 (-i/-ga) and 은/는 (-eun/ -neun). The difference is probably confusing. Subject particle 은/는 (-eun/ -neun) is used to indicate that the important information is not the subject but verb/ adjective/ adverb after its subject. Meanwhile, we use subject particle 이/가 (-i/-ga) to emphasize the subject as the important information or main focus. Line “어느 날 세상이 멈췄어” (Eoneu nal sesangi meomchwosseo) implies that it is the world which stopped one day.

5. 달려가 (Dallyeoga)

달려가 (Dallyeoga) means to run or rush. This term is taken from line “저 먹구름보다 빨리 달려가” (Jeo meoggureumboda bballi dallyeoga). 저 (Jeo) is the subject pronoun for ‘I’. 먹구름 (Meoggureum) means dark cloud or the cloud of rain. 보다 (Boda) in this sentence doesn’t refer to verb 보다 (to see) but comparative marker. 빨리 (Bballi) is functioned as adverb that means fast. Since this is a comparative sentence, the meaning is faster. So, we got the whole meaning of this sentence -> I run faster than the cloud of rain.
