Choi Daniel was born and grew up in Seoul.
He is the youngest of two.
It is said that after his mother died in an accident at the age of four, he moved to a relative’s house with his father and brother.
He belongs to Hejoo Choi clan.
He debuted as a model in 2004.
He dropped out of Chungwoon University, he studied Acting and Broadcasting at the university.
Many people have misunderstood his name as a stage name, but Choi Daniel is actually his birth name.
According to Choi Daniel himself, his parents had a vasectomy to avoid having any more children after giving birth to his older brother, but when the surgery went wrong and he was born, the name was given in the sense of “son from heaven”.
He began his career as a model before debuting as an actor in 2008.
Choi Daniel rose to fame after starring as lead actor in the MBC sitcom ‘High Kick Through the Roof’ in 2009.
Some viewers think that he somehow looks older than his actual age, and because of this reason, he often portrays characters that are older than his age.
He enlisted quietly on October 2, 2015, and served as a public service worker. The reason was a leg injury.
It was belatedly revealed that his enlistment was delayed because he was deemed unfit for active duty. He received a fourth-degree health evaluation from the military, and even though he was treated to cure his injury, his condition did not improve.
