Lee Junyoung a.k.a Jun was born and grew up in Seoul.
His family consists of mother, father, and a younger sister (born 1999).
He is a Christian.
He debuted as a new member of the idol group UKISS on June 2, 2014, through a private audition. He debuted at the age of 18 (17 international age).
At first, he wanted to be a dancer after watching the musical ‘Ballerina Who Loves B-Boy’ when he was in elementary school.
His parents didn’t permit him to be a dancer, but they eventually supported Jun’s career path.
He was active as a backup dancer under choreographer Hong Yeongjoo.
Through his parents’ and choreographer’s recommendation, he sent an audition video to NH Entertainment. All UKISS members who watch the video unanimously agreed to recruit Jun as the group’s newest member.
In 2017, he made a screen debut in tvN drama ‘Avengers Social Club’ in which he received an overwhelmingly positive review for his acting, marking a new start as an actor.
He then participated in the survival show ‘The Unit: Idol Rebooting Project’ in October 2017.
Jun ranked 1st in the survival show’s final and debuted as a member of UNB, the project group that was formed through the show.
Although he was mostly in charge of rap in UKISS, Jun became the center and main vocalist in UNB.
He released two albums with UNB: ‘Boyhood’ and ‘Black Heart’ before the group officially disbanded in 2019.
Since December 2019, he has been active as a soloist.
Jun is an acknowledged all-rounder idol with great talents in every aspect: dance, rap, vocal, even acting.
He has been learning acting by himself and started participating in drama and movie auditions since 2015.
He finally succeeded audition for the first time in 2017 and made a TV debut through ‘Avengers Social Club’, portraying the role Lee Sugyeom.
