The8 was born and grew up in Haicheng, Liaoning Province, China.
His family consists of mother and father.
The8 is an only child.
He is the sub vocalist and lead dancer of SEVENTEEN as well as part of SEVENTEEN’s performance team.
He participated in songwriting, composing, arranging, and choreographing for the group.
Minghao graduated from Beijing Contemporary Music Academy.
With the support of his parents, he learned dancing and b-boying since he was young.
While attending an art school in Beijing, a Pledis staff secretly watched The8, who was taking a breakdance class, from outside the window, and approached him for casting the moment he left the building to eat.
