MInho was born and grew up in Incheon.
He has one older brother named Choi Minseok.
Minho’s father, Choi Yoon Gyeom is a football coach.

He debuted as SHINee’s sub vocalist and main rapper in 2008 when he was only 16.
At his early debut days, he was nicknamed ‘Flaming Charisma’ because he is always passionate in everything he does.
